Questions to Ask Cheap Wedding Venues

You have a list of venues you would like to examine as possibilities. As you make plans to go around to these different locations you will most likely have questions. Obviously there are some questions you definitely know will come up, but there may be others you have yet to think about. The following will help you determine what questions to ask about your wedding venue.

You have to get a marriage licence before you can begin the wedding, so if you are going to have the reception in the same place as the wedding you might need to make certain they have a licence.

What is the minimum number of people that must attend? Some of the cheap wedding venues may have a minimum guest limit like 50 or 100 people. You might need to check if the price you have seen online can accommodate a smaller party in the event you have 20 to 50 people instead of the 100 to 300.

Is there a minimum fee you will be charged by the venue, no matter what? Some places have a facility charge that does not change no matter the amount of people you have. For instance a place set for 75 people may have a fee in which you are still charged the same even if you have 20 people. You do not want the additional costs or to lose wedding money because of these minimum fees.

You may want to ask if there is documentation in how the costs are broken down. It is always better to have an idea of the costs in a clear and concise manner. Do not just look at the bottom line. Find out what is in the package and the individual costs. You may be able to get some of the package choices removed and lower your costs. Ask about charges for the room, a booking fee, service charges, VAT included, insurance, and if there is a refundable deposit.

If you want a venue with catering as part of the package check the fees. You might find it is easier to hire a caterer, but you may also find that if you hire an outside caterer you pay more for the venue. If using an onsite caterer see if your preferred suppliers are able to work the wedding or if you must choose the venue’s list of people.
